What data do we use, and why?
Process and deliver your order, manage returns and customer service
- Data: name, delivery and billing addresses, email, phone number if provided, order contents.
- Legal basis: performance of the contract.
- Duration: for the duration of the order and statutory guarantees, then archived.
Maintain our accounting records
- Data: order and payment details appearing on the invoice.
- Legal basis: legal obligation.
- Duration: 10 years (French Commercial Code).
Process a withdrawal request sent via the online form
- Data: first name, last name, email, order number, and if provided: dates, phone number, reason, message, photos.
- Legal basis: legal obligation.
- Duration: the request is kept for 5 years as proof; photos are deleted after 6 months.
Respond to your messages
- Data: name, email, message, and order number if provided.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (responding to your inquiry).
- Duration: for the time needed to handle your request.
Remind you of an incomplete shopping cart
- Data: email entered during checkout, cart contents.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (helping you complete a purchase), with the option to opt out of these emails at any time.
- Duration: 3 years after the cart was created.
Send you offers on products similar to those you’ve purchased
- Data: email.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest, with the ability to unsubscribe in every email.
- Duration: 3 years after your last purchase.
Secure payments and prevent fraud
- Data: payment details, processed directly by our payment providers. We never see your card number.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest and legal obligation.
- Duration: as determined by the payment provider.
Who receives your data?
- Our server provider (VPS) and Cloudflare, Inc. (content delivery network), for website operation and security.
- Our payment providers: Stripe (card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna where available at checkout) and PayPal.
- Our suppliers and postal service, solely to deliver your parcel (name, address, phone number).
We do not sell or rent your data.
International transfers
We may transfer, store and process your data outside the country where you reside, with service providers and suppliers who assist us in fulfilling your order. When a provider is located in a country not considered to offer an adequate level of data protection, we only share what is necessary to complete your order.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and object at any time to receiving marketing emails (unsubscribe link in every email, or simply email contact@bathmatsaustralia.com). We respond within one month.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au, or with the CNIL if you are based in France (www.cnil.fr).
Cookies
The website uses only essential cookies: for shopping cart, security and payment. These are not used for advertising or tracking, so your consent is not required. You can block them in your browser, but this may prevent the cart and payment functions from working.

These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to any mandatory data protection rules applicable to individuals residing in other countries. In the event of any dispute arising from the interpretation or performance of these terms, the competent courts will be those determined by applicable law. The language for resolving any disputes is English.
